BSO Concerto Debut Reviews

Blaise Déjardin’s BSO debut in the Saint-Saens concerto with Andris Nelsons at Symphony Hall was met with much critical acclaim.

The Boston Classical Review characterized the performance as having “snapping rhythmic precision and excellent projection…. The cellist’s feel for the music’s discreet shifts was conspicuously on point…. This, in fact, was one of the most satisfying performances the orchestra has presented at Symphony Hall this season”. The Boston Globe described the performance as a “delightful treat” and praised the “swashbuckling verve” of his playing, while the Boston Musical Intelligencer lauded his “exemplary musicianship and sumptuous timbre.”
